11-dec-2014 Follow up Letter

The last thing I see is viewbook postcard sent

does anyone know which mail service cmu sends their ed decisions out? USPS? UPS? Fedex?

There was an old thread about a “follow-up letter” being sent from CMU (from 2006), but it seems rare and no word on whether the person ended up being accepted or not. There was a discussion about them wanting people to find out by mail if they are accepted or not.

My follow-up letter was sent to me on November 13. It’s just a letter that tells you what admission documents are missing from your application.

How many kids u think SCS takes ED? // any info on this I am thinking 20/30 outta the 130 class size

keep in mind that they take at least 250 kids because not everyone will matriculate…

Hi guys, I’ve been following this thread for a while and thought I’d join in haha. Has anyone else contacted CMU about when decision lettters would be mailed? Also, has anyone had any recent activity on “Where am I…” ? Thanks

Ya but do you know what day CMU mails it out?

tomorrow lol

@weiyourenma What do you mean 250 kids?
Do they really take 250 kids for first year scs program because a lot of kids don’t matriculate?

Sry double posted the post above due to lag.

here is some data from the 2011-2012 general fact sheet, although matriculation rate may have increased by now

low matriculation rate is because carnegie mellon is really expensive haha

I called about decisions and the reply was: the letters will be mailed on Monday, the 15th - the website will be updated 3 days later i.e on fourth day

@weiyourenma

yea but since its ED it is binding by default so those 130 ‘seats’ are auto taken… theres no chance of a person not comming
