Hello, I got accepted to the sleeping bag weekend for free. I honestly only did it to get an interview on campus for free because I live really far away. CMU is the college of my dreams and I am doing early decision II. For my interview, I plan to dress formal with the suit and dress shoes even though it is not required (applying for CIT). Is that a bad idea? Would it be a bad idea to bring in some recognition or things I received over the years that relates to my future major?
Any tips would be greatly appreciated...thank you.

It wouldn’t be a bad idea to have it handy in case they ask about it. i think that attire is fine.

I’m not sure about bringing awards or anything, but I took a resume to my interview and the adcom said she would put it into my file, so I guess listing said awards on an resume would work a little better.
No need to go completely formal, semi formal (dress shirt and slacks and nicer shoes) would suffice.
