Hey guys! Just wondering if anyone signed up for this next sleeping bag weekend! I am pretty psyched for it, hopefully I can get an interview with admissions.

same! I signed up late so I couldn’t get paired up with a student so I will be visiting w/ my parents.

I have a problem though, my dad HAS to be back Monday for work so do you guys think its ok if I come for only Sunday and leave sunday night? Does anyone know if CMU offers interviews on Sunday and how exactly does one go about signing up for one?

ohhh I just checked the sleeping bag website and it said interviews are only Monday! i really want to get an interview but the problem is that theres no way my dad can get monday off!

I thought about getting a alumni interview but I haven’t received my app number yet soo I cant contact anyone. does anyone know how I can go about this?

Eagles4Life:

Let me help you with that. You don’t need an ID no. to ask for an interview.

Go to this website.

https://webapp.as.cmu.edu/cmac/index.html;jsessionid=bwiv8n4s3s6u20yx3nq0hti2

Then type in into the first column your Country, Zip Code and etc. (Not the ID stuff)

It will then generate alumni living near you and you will see their names and where they graduated from and what year.

Then call the admissions office on Monday to enquire the contact details of any of the alumni you hope to have an interview with. (Yes you can choose your own interviewer!)

With the contact details (Phone or email), contact them personally to arrange an interview.

If they don’t get back call office again to ask another person’s details and try again!

Hope that helps.

thank you! I emailed CMU and will hope for a reply tmrw. do they work tmrw?

EforL…perhaps you are from Philly?..consider staying for part of Monday and catching a bus back. I dumped S last year to get back for work and he caught a cheap $50 flight back home to BWI but there were also buses. Also, talk to your counselor this week and see if there is anyone else going from your school. My S was surprised to meet a schoolmate at diversity/sbw so they could have shared a ride there or back. It would be nice for you to see classes in session as well as have an interview. The interview is less about whether you are a good candidate but more is to answer your questions and recruit you.
