Carnegie Mellon Summer Academy for Math and Science (SAMS) and AP/EA 2019

@Potter3846 or anyone else can you see when the teacher uploads the letter for 1 of mine i still see the red X and it says awaiting, I sent them multiple notification if they do not upload can I upload myself I do have signed scanned copies

Your teacher needs to submit the recommendation through the designated link. If you’re having issues, try creating another profile for them as a recommender. If you’re still having issues, I suggest using the chat button on the website (they actually answered questions for me rather quickly), or calling. I had the same issue with my transcript, and it took a call to fix it.

Do I need to write the AI4ALL essays if I’m only interested in SAMS?

You don’t have to write the AI4ALL essays to for your application to submit @guuz2020 I’m 100% sure. I was accepted before submitting my AI4ALL essays myself

When “applications” are due the 15th of February, does that mean the supplemental documents are as well? I have an issue with obtaining my unofficial transcript and am really worried as the deadline is done tmrw. Also are the A14All essays necessary?

@BeanLea people have been saying the AI1ALL questions aren’t necessary for just applying to SAMS

@guuz2020 I see, also, any thoughts on the deadline concern? I’ve finished everything else, but my unofficial transcript may not be available until like tuesday

For the submission, there is no final “submit application” once you attach the essays right??? I don’t see any button that says “SUBMIT”?? Is it fine if everything has been received with all the green arrows???

I’m in the same boat as you @BeanLea, my chem teacher hasn’t submitted the recommendation. I have everything else done though

@Potter3846 That’s what I thought. All mine are above 300 words, my average is probably 400 between the 4 essays

@Bean_sir I see, tsk, I emailed the admissions office they said “Thanks for emailing the Office of Undergraduate Admission at Carnegie Mellon University. The application is due by midnight on February 15th. The other information for your application can come in after.” though I’m not exactly sure as they did send out an email previous saying “All supporting documents are due 15th”

@bigboi312 I don’t have an answer for you but if it comforts you I was wondering the same thing

I just submitted my less updated transcript and submitted the missing report cards, basically I submitted the “unofficial transcript” like three times. It’s probably going to be the end of me but it’s the only thing I’m willing to risk

Success! She sent the recommendation in! @BeanLea since it specifically says unofficial I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Good Luck!

Awesome dude! Love the username btw XD

@BeanLea the recommendations and the transcript is due at a later date but I forgot when. Maybe you could call and find out but don’t worry too much.

Also my essays were all around 300 words I didn’t really go much above that.

What kind of income verification they do require? A copy of last year tax return? And much time do you have to provide it? I’m worried because if parents are divorced and don’t maintain good relations, it might be very difficult to impossible to get a copy of return from the other parent…

Do they require to upload any documentation to confirm family income? Like previous year tax returns? And if they do, how much time do they give to get the copies of tax return from all family members (assuming parents are divorced)?
