man I hate living so far away…

ok - well i couldn’t take it any longer and I called. She was very nice, looked my son up and said - - - Not in. Boo hoo. Oh well. Does anyone know how much is based on financial need? I wonder how many applied this year?

I am so excited to be able to be the first to post that my son has been accepted into the SAMS junior class!!! Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear!

I also called them and I was told my son did not get in:(

Congrats to those who got accepted. Just to get an idea, can @ProudMomx3 and @frinkila, could you let us know your stats?

thanks.

Hi Orientalmed,
I’m sorry to hear that
What number did you call? Is it 412.268.2082?

Orientalmed and ppatil, sorry about your sons’ outcomes.

My son’s stats:
AA from upstate NY, middle class, no hard luck tales to tell
No standardized testing except PLAN w/ 29 composite
Old school unweighted GPA of 98% at a public school that is neither “highly ranked” or “competitive” ( to use cc lingo).
Currently taking Algebra II and Trig (this is the accelerated track at our school, lol), and will not take Physics until next year.
Plenty of ECs but nothing out of the ordinary.
He is a bright, hard working, well rounded kid and I feel that he is the type of student that fits the program’s mission and will truly benefit from it and that is why he was chosen.

Lurker here, Accepted into SAMS :D

orientalmed, Got the letter today, and it’s dated May 6th

I’ve been lurking for awhile and finally joined. My son received his acceptance into the Junior Class of the SAMS program today via a snail mail letter dated May 6th. We live in the southeast, so it was able to reach us rather quickly.

Happy Summer to all!!

Waitlisted… Bummed out, but still have another program to go to thankfully!

Hey I was also waitlisted. Are you still trying to attend SAMS or are you just going to another program? :-)

I was going for the APEA program, but I’m going to the other program. haha

Going to revive this thread to ask… does anyone know how to access this year’s Summer Programs for Diversity application? Every time I click “Apply Now” it just takes me back to the page with the information about what you should include in the application. It’s February and the application was supposed to be available by late January.

Accepted into the program in early March, but it said nothing of a scholarship. It was just an email. Still waiting for the acceptance package in the mail.

@jandrechak accepted into what program? Only the diversity programs get scholarships so if you didn’t apply through diversity then you didn’t get a scholarship…

So I sent in all of my application things and online stuff for Summer Prograns for Diversity… Applied for both AP/EA and music (piano).
Funny thing is, I already received an email from the music director that he is pushing them to accept my application since my auditions was pretty good (I guess). Just wondering- does this mean I’m accepted into the free Diversity program (which is what I applied for), or for the regular Pre-college program? Hope it’s for Diversity since my parents are definitely not going to fork over 8k, haha.
And I hope I get into AP/EA… I got alternate for RSI so I need to find something to do this summer :/

delete

@planner03 what?

Applied for AP/EA… hope I get the scholarship, else parents won’t pay for it.
