<p>I would counsel to apply to a school ED only if you are sure you can afford it and really, really want to go. If the school has a net price calculator that is on target with what you can afford and you can swing it, all is good. But if you apply and aid doesn’t come in the way you had hoped (aid packages may not be in until late March/April) then you can decline but it puts you at a serious disadvantage with other schools. You just cannot compare packages at most schools with the ED. CMU does a good job with the ED applicants in giving them an idea of cost with the NPC. Be sure that ED is the one you can afford and want in the long term. Is law your interest? Just curious.</p>
