Carnegie Mellon.

I was wondering what you guys think my chances are for getting into Carnegie Mellon.
GPA: 3.8
SAT 730 math/600 verbal
TSA-1st place Constructions Systems-states, Finalist Nationals, First Place regionals Tech Challenge, 1st place states Tech Challenge. Varsity Swimming, four years, Captain senior year. JETS- First place regionals, Second states.

I dont really know what else to put for my extra-curriculars... but yea, what do you guys think. I was wondering what I could do to up my chances at places like that.

ay yo.
It depends which college of CMU you're applying to, electrical and computer engineering (ECE) is by far the toughest to get into. The other schools are significantly easier to get into.

Is that GPA weighted or not?

Get a TSA officier position for next year and scioly credit and you'll have a much better shot at ECE. I think you'd get into the other schools of cmu with your current stats.

ECE is tough to get into, but School of Computer Science is harder. Tepper Business is also not easy.

I'm pretty sure ECE is the toughtest, followed by SCS.

It looks like SCS is more selective, though it's hard to tell since specific numbers aren't released for ECE. ECE has the largest enrollment at CIT, however, and according to the 2005 factbook, SCS has been two to three times as selective as CIT over the last five years. SCS's combined SATs are 70 to 90 points higher, too.

Alright, well, thx for the stuff you guys, oh yea, the GPA there is unweighted, i think weighted it's a little higher, but If I get a TSA position for next year, and I do have scioly
credit this year, you guys think I have a reasonable shot?

Oh, one more thing, I took AP Physics Mech. and I believe that with an A in the class, I have a good shot at getting a 5 on the test. My grades have been steadily rising through the past three years, and I was wondering if that is the kind of thing I could emphasise for a little bit of a boost?

Alright, sry to reply on my own post like 10 times, but I got to thinking about jobs, and what impact they could have. I will be in my fifth summer working at a camp near me, (I worked while I was under 16 as a CIT (counselor in training) which was like slave labor, but still.) and I thought that might help. I am still working there, got invited again for this upcoming summer, I also do work for an elderly neighbor near me, and used to bus/wait at a chinese place near me. Could listing any of the above help me?
