AP calc
AP physics
AP english
AP biology

How much can you pay per year? Are you an international?

idk in all honesty. i am not international.

Disregard my first question because it doesn’t matter much if you aren’t international
CMU/Washu/Emory/NYU: match
Ivy leagues: reaches

NYU gives really crappy aid, so I think you need to have a second thought about it. So bad that it’s hurting the school.

thanks for the input!
can somebody tell me what is preventing me from getting into brown ?

I think you have great ECs but maybe make sure u write a powerful essay so u cud get accepted because that’s what sets u apart, ivys are looking for ppl who stand out in some way

For Brown, they want you to show tremendous interest. You need to show up to a bunch of info sessions. Other than that, the GPA is a tad low, but if you can put forth your national awards in music and chess, you have a good shot. Oh and make sure your test scores are up to par (2300+ for Ivies or 35+). Other schools, 2100-2300 or 33-35 should be fine, since you didn’t provide any test scores in this thread.

what if i don’t have enough money to go to all those info sessions and stuff?

You don’t have to go to visits, etc. Email admissions and tell them of your interest. If you are in a major city, schools come there for info sessions, so ask if they are coming to your area.

And to the poster of #6, since when is a 3.87 GPA low?

Good GPA and EC’s, but with no SAT it’s really hard to tell. Shoot for 2200 plus for all of these schools, and even then that may not be enough for CM, WUSL, Brown, Penn, etc. etc. I think you’ll get into NYU, but they don’t give out much financial aid so you’d have to take that into account. Ball out on the SAT/ACT and you’ll get a better idea of where you can go. Chance me back http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1707789-already-applied-but-what-do-you-think-my-chances-are.html#latest</a>

I think you should consider CMU a match.

All your GPA and ECs stuff are nice…but have you taken SAT/ACT and the scores aren’t out yet?? Because these scores could possibly play an important role for admission to some colleges,So at least an prediction of your score would be nice

NYU/Carnegie/Emory/WashU/Vanderbilt-Low reach to Match
Ivies-Reach
Your extracurriculars are great as well your gpa! As long as your essays and SAT scores are good, you should have a good shot at all the schools.

your extracurriculars are really great, along with your GPA, but you need to first take the SAT to see how well you do. But do well on theSAT, and you basically are set
