Carolina 101

I just got an email saying I have been invited to attend Carolina 101 this spring. I was wondering if anyone has past experience with this program? Is it something they invite everyone who has shown interest in the school to? For example, making a UNC Portal account, sending SAT scores, etc. Thanks.

Does anyone have any information on this? Did anyone else get this invite? Is it actually selective or do lots of people get invited? I have done a lot of research on UNC, and I have never heard of this program before, so I’m both excited and curious. Any help/info would be appreciated! :)

My daughter went to a similar program in the fall. The invite was based on your PSAT/SAT (don’t remember which) scores.

My son went last year and ended up being accepted. We don’t know of any other kid that went from his school!

I don’t know anyone else who was invited from my school either. It’s interesting that it’s based on PSAT/SAT scores because my PSAT scores were good, but not great (a couple of people at my school did better), and I have yet to receive my SAT scores back (it was the first time I took the test). It makes me feel good to know that your son was invited and then accepted, Thp2017! Thanks!

It’s basically like an info day, similar to Explore Carolina. You get to talk to a student panel, sit into info sessions, and pretty sure a tour of campus is included.

They invite those students that show high academic merit and would therefore be most interested in these kind of programs, but it’s open for all admitted students to attend.
