Caroline D Bradley Chance?

@heybri Wow, strange. I would recommend reaching out directly to the IEA about this. I’ll also check with my dad to see whether there are any interview spots left, which could indicate a finalist still hasn’t accepted his/her spot.

@mssweeteaa Good idea, thanks!

oops sorry, wrong thread! but congrats all scholars!

@mssweeteaa For a middle school student, you are just so awesome. I am so impressed with you pre planning and your dedication. you have an awesome life ahead and keep shining. Good luck !

Need an information. Do you mind DM’ing me as I have very less post.

Hi Heybri, Have you gotten any reply at all? I read all the applicants receive something, is that the case for you? Thank you!

I’m a CDB scholar in college now and I just want to say congrats to everyone - even applying is a big achievement in itself. I’d like to say, though, it’s not just about the stats. I didn’t have anything remotely close to the OP’s stats, but it’s really the personality that matters. Bonnie has worked with students for a very long time, and she has good intuition. She’s also super sweet, so if you’re going to have an interview, know that you’re in good hands. I was extremely shy as a kid (still kind of am), and I was nervous out of my mind. Bonnie knew how to get me to open up, though, and she saw something in me (I still don’t know what that thing is because I don’t even believe in myself). So good luck to all of you, and just know (it’s cliche but) to be yourself - don’t try to show them a “perfect” version or something you think they want to see (it’s probably not what they actually want to see). They don’t want to see “perfect” students. Y’all are middle schoolers for Christ’s sake. They can see potential in you. Trust me. You got this.

Hi, @treelover2022 let me start off by saying sorry for this late response. Honestly, I was just lazy. For your question, I don’t think I can say yes but I also can’t say no. It’s complicated.

What happened was I never received an email from CDB and I waited for a long long time. I ended up reaching out to them in August (which in hindsight was way too late). They manually went into my profile and copy and pasted the email.

However, there was something that I found somewhat odd. I’m going to be a little vague here for privacy but if you would like more detail, please feel free to DM me. To make this story make sense, I want to mention I didn’t make it to be a semifinalist. When the new application season started, (nameless) school emailed me with some blah blah blah but the part that caught my eye was they mention “my affiliation with CDB”. This confused me because I thought CDB didn’t send out applicant info to schools till past the semifinalists round—which keep in mind, I didn’t make.

In conclusion, I’m still confused about what happened and I have some suspicions.

I hope CDB fixed the problems with their system so what happened to me doesn’t happen to anyone else. Good luck to all the future applicants!
