Carpet in Dorm Rooms?

Do most people end up putting carpet in their dorm rooms or just use small throw rugs?

I’d say that most people use a large rug… like 5x7 or 6x8 to cover the area of exposed floor. The rest is usually covered by furniture. My roommate and I have a 6x8 rug between our beds and a small throw rug in front of our closet doors and at the entrance door. I have seen someone use those carpet tiles, which was cool but it really hard to do around the furniture.

I think my rug (which I’ve had for three years) is 8x10. It is really heavy duty and a nice color - my roommate and I bought it for $50 at BJ’s! You do not want your bare feet on the dirty floor. People also get creative with throw rugs. It does get awkward with the furniture because you have to make sure you put the rug down first, etc.

I’m in a double in Craige North - do you think I can get an 8 by 10 and not worry that it will be too large for the room, or just wait until I get there…

I think that would work. Pretty sure mine is 8x10 (or at least 7x9 - it’s big). It took up just about the whole floor in HoJo, so I’m sure that size would work in Craige North.

Thanks for the info!
