Carrefour Sherbrooke/Douglas/New Rez/RVC

Hi,

I'm a French newly admitted student into BCom and I'm looking for residences for next year.

I've made some research, and those 4 are my top choices ... but going through threads I see everything and his countrary about
- atmosphere (the party one in New Rez, the quiet one in RVC ??)
- cafeteria (does CS' one really suc**)
- climbing the hill in winter .. is it really that hard ?
- roommates in CS or New Rez .. is there often dramas ?

If you have other helpful advices about residences, please tell me ;)

What about La citadelle?

La Citadelle has a food system that looks weird … like students cook for themselves but not always or I don’t know  Also, I’ve heard there has been problem during the first year of CS, so I guess there would also be some problem for La Citadelle first year !

Which of these have single rooms or private bathrooms by the way? I think I’m personally gonna try for La Citadell though. Single/Shared rooms with private bathrooms looks too good to pass off. Also I checked the meal plan, seems reasonable. Allows you the option of cooking for yourself or dining at the cafeteria.

RVC and Douglas have lots of single rooms but shared bathrooms … and New Rez and CS have nearly no single rooms but they have double rooms w bathrooms.
For La Citadelle, the meal plan correspond to only half what you get in CS, so you’ll have to cook your food for half of your meals and for the rest you need to go to CS cafeteria across the street !

Does anyone else currently at McGill can answer the first questions ?

apparently la citadelle is supposed to be the most “luxurious” residence hall? current mcgillians, is this true?

La Citadelle is the newest residence and will open this fall. Other than what is on the website, no one really knows what it will be like.

What about RVC / Carrefour / Douglas / New Rex?
