palmtree,
I think you have front wheel drive, with on-demand 4 wheel drive.

You need an SUV because of snow? Are you kidding? I've lived in NH all my life, and I've driven a Honda Civic front wheel drive P.O.S for the last two years. I've never had any trouble in the snow, and that includes when I drove 100 miles each way to go skiing every weekend, even in heavy snow. If you're not a total idiot, you can't really go wrong with most any (front wheel drive) vehicle in the snow.

That said, if I saw a college kid driving a Porsche, it would tell me that that kid's parents completely spoil him. I think it's cool when people drive really nice cars, but if they don't buy it with their own earned money, then it is really pretty lame.

i think ill go with the porsche.. if my parents upto buying it for me, there shouldnt be a problem.. i mean im not a kind of guy wholl brag about it..i mean its a nice car, i like it, my parents are ready to buy it..!

Have fun, those cars are really better driven during the summer, especially in a snowy area given the high possibility of rust.

In the end, I don't think I would judge you based on the type of car you have. First, I probably wouldn't recognize it right away, and two, as long as you don't tempt packs of students out to look at your car, you may well remain anonymous with it.

sure buddy

LOL, do you really think college is going to be a place where people sit around talking about the cars people drive? Sure, you and your buddies may, but there is hardly going to be a general consensus formed about you because of your car. People have too many other things on their mind and too many other things to do. The only people who know what I drive are my friends... not ONCE (and I'm beginning my Senior year, mind you), have I ever been asked what kind of car I drive. Hunk, people just don't care that much. Get what's best for you and enjoy it, and I hope that you don't judge other people on their cars the same way you seem to expect people to judge you on yours.

I agree with the guy that said if he saw a college kid driving a porsche, it would be a total putoff that their parents completely spoil them.

Now, on the other hand, if they were one of the rare cases where they actually made enough money to afford the payments and it still be reasonable (its rare but it happens) I would have plenty of respect for them rather than thinking they were some spoiled brat who hasnt had to work for a dime in their life (I used to work with a kid like that...the only reason he was working was for something to do and access to some of the things offered by the company...his parents bought him everything).

Or if it was an older model porsche which arent actually that expensive (as long as they obviously cared about it).
