Both my suite mates are in GSP and they had SAT scores in the mid 1900s, but great GPAs.

^hmm ok i was tryign to check the site, but i couldnt find anything really helpful.
anyone else?

NYU says that to be "competitive," applicants should have SAT critical reading and math scores ranging from the mid-600s to mid-700s (or above, of course) each. I know that's not fully answering your question about ranges, but you know, at least, by getting at least a 1300 you're competitive to apply for CAS/GSP...I don't think NYU has the writing score averaged yet with everything, since it's still quite new. That may have changed in the last few months, I'm not sure.

hmm, because i know i wont be in the competition for CAS, though my gpa and ec's are high/excellent, my sat scores are just not up there, there fore i was hoping to rely on GSP.

They don't factor in the writing portion because it has only been around a few years, so nyu doesn't feel that they have enough information on whether the writing score accurately reflects the academic ability of a student at their university, so they place little weight on it. I expect in the coming years however that the writing score will gradually be taken into account much like the Math and Critical Reading portions.
