hi what is the deal with the cas requirements, how strict are they on them?
it requires 3 years of one foreign language.. i have 2 years of one language in high school, and then i have one year of a different language during high school that i had also studied for about 9 years before high school..
i know it says to include a letter, if you don't fulfill the requirements but i don't really see anywhere on the common app to include it, so would i just email it?

Hey,

I got into CAS ED and was basically in the same boat. I wasn’t born here so I can already speak a different language (Russian). Despite that fact, I took 2 years of Russian - the max that was offered. I explained the whole situation in a LETTER. I wrote about 3 paragraphs, carefully explaining why I didn’t do more. I mailed it straight to the Admissions Office - [Cornell University, 410 Thurston Avenue, Ithaca, NY 14850]. Good luck - you have about 4 days to mail it out.

P.S.: I guess you can email it, but they do request a letter, and it does seem more formal. Since they are already closed for break, just write the letter and have UPS ship it there.
