Hi do you mean you will attend the last orientation session in July or you will arrive the last day of the orientation? Anyway, NYU CAS reserves spots in classes for every session, so if your question is will you have a chance to sign up for desirable or popular classes if attending the last orientation session, the answer is yes. however, you will be competing with students attending the same session for limited spots in the most popular classes. So it depends on when your advisor inputs your schedule in for you.

I am not sure if you are asking about the summer readings assigned to be read before your orientation session? if that is what you are referring to, there are no grades given for work assigned for Orientation.

If you are referring to the one book that is recommended for summer reading, it wasn’t mandatory but recommended. In fact I read the book, my daughter did not. I believe you could attend an elective discussion of the book at Welcome Week or orientation.
