<p>Im aware that there are 2 freshman orientation sessions, one in mid june and the other in late august, and Ive heard that if you do not attend the one in june, you will have little flexibility in choosing your classes during the orientation in august because the good time slots will already have been taken. Can anyone confirm this?</p>

<p>Stern registration is done over the internet; there is no need to attend the June orientation sessions. There will be a website that explicitly states what classes you are suppose to take.</p>
<p>CAS and other students have registration during summer orientation and it is true that people who attend in Aug lose the good classes.</p>
<p>When do Tisch register for our classes? There's stuff about registering on Albert on NYUHome but it stops me from being able to...</p>
<p>so for CAS, you cant register online? its really difficult for myself to attend the orientation because i am intl</p>
<p>Everyone registers online, but that probably isn't true for all incoming freshman. After your first registration, then it's all online.</p>

<p>Jenny - I've heard two things. One that we register during our orientation (which is during welcome week), but before that I heard that at some point this summer, registration opens to us and we pick our classes then an advisor or someone calls us a little later just to make sure we picked classes that are right for us. So.....not sure which =]</p>
<p>For Stern one registers over the internet in early June w/o any need to meet an advisor.</p>

<p>I will go to the optional academic orientation...I think, because I live in Jersey....might as well, but i may change my mind....there really isnt much flexibility for first year NYU Stern Undergrads, b/c of the requisite courses...and no electives.......first year anyway</p>
