hey all you committed, class of 2010 froshes
how do we pick our residential colleges? are they randomyl assigned? I know we don't pick when you fill out the deposit...

apparently theyre random..but i dont wanna do that theatre stuff..so i don't know

Really? I'm hoping for either magnolia or mistletoe :p

yeah I was hoping for juniper or mistletoe
international kids make good food! lol

I'd kind of like to avoid Cedar. Which means that's where I'll end up! :p

haha good ol Murphy and his law...

Yep. Murphy's law pretty much rules my life :p

bear in mind that cedar is the south side college for this year's freshman. next year all freshman are northside so there will be no cedar (atleast im pretty sure). If there was a 4th college northside it would not be named cedar (colleges are named for trees, and so they'd choose something else. cedar was called cedar because of the tree and cedar road runs by it). ill throw in my two sense and say that juniper is the best. nicest dorms close to leutner and closest to classes (only like 2 minutes, but it helps)

Geez you'd think they'd mention that. Or maybe I just missed it :o

I didn't see the tree theme going either. haha. boy am I slow :p.

I dunno
in the 2006-2007 pamphlet Cedar is still listed as an option, maybe they're keeping it and trying to boost class szie?

ah, they are keeping the name but moving it northside. interesting. maybe they couldnt think of another tree or something. before this school year they didnt have a cedar i dont think. it was an invention for the huge current freshman class when we overflowed to southside near cedar road, thus cedar. good call. http://studentaffairs.case.edu/living/housing/undergrad/

I'd really like to be in Mistletoe, Magnolia as a second choice.

Oh, could someoone tell me whether they are co-ed by floor or what? I can't seem to find this information. :p

What is FYE housing? Thanks.

FYE=first year experience

I believe when you fill out your room request they will ask whether you want a co-ed floor or an all-male or all-female floor.

Umm honestly, what makes up a residential college is the students in it. The dorms are pretty much all the same. well Mistole and i guess new Cedar hae co-ed floors. Well girls are one half of the floor and boy on the other side, seperated by two common areas. But other than that there pretty much the same

I emailed housing and they said

"After we download your application from admissions, you will receive an email confirmation that will explain how you can go online and make additional requests about your space. Expect this email in Mid-May.

Loretta ton
Assistant Director for Campus Living"

so I think that answers the questions about different colleges...

Its Sexton, btw Loretta Sexton
