Hi,

I've been accepted to both Case and Boston University for BME and was wondering what people thought of both programs?

Hi,

^
unfortunately, so is BU (I think Case is 7 and BU is 8). I know the research and internship opportunities at Case are endless, but what about BU?

Case hands down. We have a better engineering school, and you will receive a more rigorous education, which will pay off in the long run.

caseengr...kind of off topic but how is the social life at case?

It is what you make of it. There are a lot of introverted kids here that would prefer to do nothing but sit in their room and study, but there are plenty of kids that like to party, play IM's, etc. I'm in a fraternity, which helps out a lot. More than 30% of the campus is Greek. I would say that if you want to have fun here, that's the best way to go. There are plenty more outgoing people within the Greek system here.

I don't know the specifics well and won't recommend one over the other, but with these choices, it's hard to go wrong. Case's overall engineering school might be better (I'm going by what caseengr says, I don't actually know), but BU's specialty within engineering is BME. In the most recent US News grad ranking, BU is 7 for BME and Case is 9, which puts them on basically the same level.

thanks for the info caseengr and jessiehl...ya this is going to be a hard decision because Case's Coop program is also very good but on the other hand BU is much closer to home (I live 30 minutes outside of Boston), so its very convenient....this decision is too hard...

I'd say Case is a much stronger school academically but the schools have very different atmospheres.

ya liberate i agree...i really want a good sports program i can cheer on (which BU has with hockey) but Case doesnt soo im not sure...i think in the end it will come down to money..
