Hello everyone! So, I guess no sugarcoating it, I am interested in hearing about the academic rigor of case, specifically, for pre-med? Can anyone give me an insight on how difficult it is to maintain a GPA of 3.8+ plus activities such as a research, volunteer, etc? I consider myself a good student, but I think I’ve had to work harder than most of my peers in my AP and IB classes (immigrant and hope to be first in my family to go to college!). It’s between my state school (Ohio State) and CWRU for me, and being able to succeed academically is big deciding point for me. Any help is much appreciated!
What are you thinking about as a major?
I’m thinking Biology or Biochemistry.
It’s hard, but doable. You just have to stay focused on be smart about the courses you’re taking. Don’t take too many hard classes at once, and try to pick the best professors for each class. Focus on academics your first semester, and SLOWLY add on research/extra curriculars each semester. One of the worst things you can do is overload yourself and fall apart. Keep in mind everyone around you was a good student in hs.
