Case Western or Wake Forest for Pre-Med

Hey, I'm a senior in high school about to make my decision about where i spend my next four years. I'm trying to decide between Northwestern and Wake Forest.

Wake Forest: I'm pretty sure Wake is a better school overall, plus it's ranked higher on U.S. News. But I heard the work load is insane at Wake, and I need time outside the classroom to study for other things. The white population at Wake is also pretty huge, which isn't too appealing for me being an Asian.

Case: People say that if you go premed, the undergraduate school doesn't really matter. All you need are high GPA, MCAT, good teacher rec's etc. At Case, I'm pretty sure I'll have an easier time juggling all my priorities. At the same time, one of my close friends might come here with me and it would be great to dorm together and just chill. The workload and stuff is probably not as big as NU. I also got a hefty 4 year scholarship here which puts my family in a better condition.

So what do you guys think? If I went to one or the other, which one would be better for me in the long run, for med school? Is it true undergrad isnt really that important for med school? Should I opt for Wake or Case? Thanks.

Don’t fool yourself. Pre-med won’t be easy anywhere you go.

I like Wake Forest as a much more well-rounded school, but I’d have to say that the scholarship at Case would be very appealing if you’re planning on further education.
