My family has also visited twice and think the campus is great. We ruled out several other fine schools due them being too urban for my daughter - GWU, PITT, BU, and found this campus to be a great blend of urban and yet still campus. Unlike some students didn’t feel like it was split down the middle by Euclid Blvd more than many other campuses are by a major road, and there is a vibe that came across by being so close to the action. Yet, there is a quad, lots of green and you definitely don’t feel like you are in a city - many pretty buildings! Maybe not the stereotype LAC campus but definitely looked collegiate to us and DD is very excited to be starting this fall.
U rite, I exaggerated.
I was my first choice for a Long time and would have happily gone to Case if I had enjoyed my campus visit even a tiny bit.
I guess sdgal2 was referring to your posts where you said as far back as 3/30 that you much prefer Smith and will be attending it unless your visit to Smith goes badly. Sounds very different from what you are writing here, that’s all. You don’t have to like Case, and my daughter frankly had a horrible overnight because they paired her up with an introverted girl who never leaves her room and doesn’t like to socialize - not a great advertisement for the school, but the campus is great and the other people she met very nice so hard to imagine anyone could hate their entire visit, but to each her own…
My daughters overnight wasn’t great either. Her host had two guest and spent the night studying. Not at all what she expected. But I am sure she would have been very happy.
is it true that case western began to accept students off the waitlist?
Hi, I’m a waitlisted applicant who is from out-of-state. What should I expect?
how likely is for one to be accepted from waitlist?
@sss0296 Case doesn’t care if you’re from out of state or not
I don’t know anyone that’s been accepted off the list yet. I don’t think anyone should expect an acceptance until after May 1st tomorrow which is the deadline for everyone to accept their offer.
And 10% of the people on the wait list got in last year. So at best you have a 10% chance of getting in.
@sss0296 some students got off the wait list , see the thread for wait list
Should I send a letter in to my regional admission officer saying that i’m still very interested?
While some people have suggested me to do this, others discouraged me from doing it as it seems like bothersome to the officer.
@sss0296 As you’ll see from the thread that @weiba1014 mentioned, some applicants, including myself, have received “possible admission” emails which prompt for a letter of interest. If you get this email, send the letter. If you haven’t, then I don’t know how much it can help at this point but it’s worth a shot if you’re really interested. Many other schools gladly take letters of continued interest and usually don’t look at them as bothersome. If anything, expressing genuine interest and continuing to chase down that acceptance can either help you or not hurt you at all.
Can any admitted students look to see how many students have registered. Waitlist students would like to get an idea of the count.
@sss0296 It certainly won’t hurt to send a letter…I suspect now that they are looking for people who: 1) Would attend if admitted 2) Fill a spot (We need a tuba player or another accounting major or something)
@sss0296 If Case is your first choice and you would (and could afford to) attend if admitted, you should absolutely write to tell them that. It is not bothersome to anyone. If they go to the waitlist, they are looking for people who will enroll.
