Case

So my parents pretty much said no to Tulane, so I'm set to go to Case western.
I am already concerned about my decision, as I am planning to study poli sci and humanities. When I talk to department heads, the programs sound good, but students give it mixed reviews.
Also, I hear completely contrasting opinions on the social scene.
I'm starting to feel as if I made a poor decision, and don't want to go in with the attitude of wanting to transfer, but after getting a not so great aid offer after appealing the 1st, I'm trying to keep my options open in terms of going to a more affordable school. I'd love to be able to transfer to Penn.
Basically, anyone have thoughts on case or advice on schools to look to transfer to(transfer thread is pretty dead)?I am going in with an open mind to case, but want to be prepared if it doesn't work. Everytime I hear something positive, I hear 2 negatives...im pretty confused now.

Well, i'm sure you've heard my opinion before in the Case thread, but I'm having a great time here both academically and socially. As a bio major, I can't really comment on the poli sci/humanities- although I did have a seminar (philosophy/english) professor who was probably the most inspiring professor i've ever come across. If he's any indication of what the other humanities professors are like, I can't imagine the program being anything short of excellent.

Every aspect of Case seems to invoke a wide range of opinions, although generally positive. I was told you couldn't appeal aid offers from Case. Is that untrue?

I should say re evaluated and then revised. I had proof of signifigant loss of income, and they gave me additional loans.

I'd only be concerned if you turned down a decent state university for CWRU.

How much in loans by the way?

8k in grants, 15000k in grant money.
I turned down Pitt honors for two reasons
The class size and # of students is too large
I live 20 min away and would like to get out of pgh.
Also, I was recruited to play and playing at pitt would be difficult.
If pitt were smaller I would have strongly considred.
Basically, if I can carry a 3.7ish at case, will I have a shot at transfering to a top 20 school? I would receive much more aid at Penn or swarthmore, or any PA school because of TAP.
I think the price tag on case may be too high and that I made a poor decision
