Cash to Chip

Anyone have a list of where the cash to chip machines are located?

i want to know also...I'm going to have to withdraw money from my Bank of America account and then put it into my card.

Cash to chip machines are in every dorm and in the main post office in the Union.

There are about 50 on campus: FSUCard Center

I didn't see one in the lobby of Landis when we moved our son in last weekend. The only thing I saw was a copier.

I haven't been in Landis recently...but the students likely know where they are, as well as the student-employee at the front desk. :)

Just ask at the front desk when you check in. The one in Gilchrist is on the first floor near the lobby in a lounge. If the front desk is crazy at check-in in Landis, use the connector to Gilchrist on the second floor of Landis. You can walk right over, go down to the first floor, and load it up They are in lounges, laundry rooms, near banks of vending machines, at the computer labs at the library (you can use the smart card for printing at 8 cents a copy).... There is also one at the card center where you got your FSU card.

just remember not to put too much money on the chip. if the id gets lost, you lose the money on the chip. placing $25 or so on the chip is good and can always be renewed.

^I agree with this advice. :)

Thanks for all the advice. I forwarded the info to my son. I'm in banking and I just don't see the advantage of the chip card. A few times a year, I have to use a chip card at a local laundry mat and I think it's a pain.

Well, putting $10 on the chip saves having to have change for laundry, wending machines and printing/copying. These kids are up at 2am doing laundry, 3am looking for midnight snacks and 4am at the library needing to make a copy or to print up a paper. There is not always the change they need, or any store open or change machine available to use. And sodas and vending stuff is cheaper using the chip. And if they only do laundry every so often, it takes a few loads of wash--quite a lot of change. And the dryer is $25 for each 15 min, with an average load taking 50-75 cents. And quarters are heavy and not cheap to be sending a roll every so often. My D had been to summer programs and she and I found the chips to work out well.
