CatCard Deposit Amount?

<p>This is directed mostly to current or past DC students or parents.</p>

<p>I need to put a balance on my S's CatCard. I have no idea how much would be appropriate - in part because I don't really know how frequently they're used or for what. The form offers amounts such as $1,000, $1,500, $2,000. He has a credit card [for emergencies] and a debit card linked to his personal bank account, so I'm wondering what makes sense to have on his CatCard.</p>

<p>Can any of you give me your advice on that subject?</p>

<p>$1000 is enough for books and then some for both semesters unless you are planning on buying a TI 89 graphing calculator (any calculus or higher math class) in which case $1200 is more comfortable.</p>
