I get 4-6 hours a sleep (sometimes an hour or 2 more). So I was thinking during full break next week that I sleep the whole day to catch up on all the sleep I missed. Is this a bad idea? Is it bad to sleep too much even if you slept to little prior days?

yes it’s a bad idea, you can’t really “catch up on sleep.”

Just sleep 8 hours. I find if I sleep less than 8, I’ll probably be tired, and if I sleep more than say 9 hours, I’ll also feel tired.

I mean honestly if you’re not feeling tired in the morning after 6 hours of sleep, then it means you’re getting enough sleep. If you ARE tired, then you need to get more sleep.

Of course there’s also bizzare times like I had this Saturday where I slept from 3:30 am to 6:58 pm and only woke up once around 7:40 am for a few moments.

^I do things like that, but I have health problems that I know cause issues like that. If your sleeping is that wacky and there isn’t an obvious explanation I would really suggest seeing a doctor.

you can’t possibly stay asleep for a whole day. Are you saying that you fall asleep at midnight and wake up at 4 pm? yea that doesn’t happen unless you pass out on prescription pills.

I man it out on the weekdays and sloth through the weekends. It works out pretty well for me. 5-7 hours on the weekdays and 9+ hours on the weekends.

Based on your posts you are unhappy, unhappiness makes sleeping more difficult. Catching up on sleep works for me, but I never need to catch up at school. I worked 45-60 hours a week this summer, had to wake up at 7am, and when I had a day off, I crashed. Going to bed at 11 in the summer is not going to happen. Yes, catch up, but try to regulate your sleeping cycle.

You arent really suposed to sleep 8 hours strait when you are in college. You should try taking two shorter naps. Usually after classes, then after you go out to party or after doing homework. So i bet if you took 2 4 hour naps or 2 5 hour naps you would be better. I though everyone in college knew that.

I’m going take an educated guess and assume that you’re working full time and not taking any classes? Ok that makes sense.

I don’t like taking naps, because that screws up my sleep cycle. If I take a long nap, I feel great afterwards. But that night, I would probably have trouble falling asleep
