Catholic University engineering

In my search of BME unis, I came across Catholic University. It is located in the DC area, which is appealing to my son, and it is, obviously, a Catholic university, though not a Jesuit one.

It does have an accredited BME program.

Is anyone familiar with this school's engineering or computer science programs, or its campus life? Are there dorms available for students or is there a shortage? This would be important, as housing in DC is quite pricey. Also, DC is supposed to be not too safe, so would rather son live on campus while there.

Hoping to get some input on this school.

Thanks!

well, i got my MS in a nunnery, so I think you’ll be fine.

It might be okay, but in general, Catholic University is not a very selective institution. Look closely at their curriculum.

I’ve been there. The campus is nice but not gorgeous. The campus itself seemed quite safe, although it’s not in the best part of town. It’s respectable academically.

Not concerned with prestige. More interested in location, campus life, internship/coop opportunities, curriculum, not in that order. Looking for an accredited BME program in a medium size setting, preferably urban, in a location where internships/coops would be available close by.

Thanks for any other input.

I believe CUA’s engineering program is ABET accredited.
