Caught Cheating > Consequences?

making a new CC account to protect my identity, I am in a hole right now.
I got caught cheating on an English quiz in my English normal class. My phone (which was used as part of cheating) was confiscated to the Dean. I received a 0 on this quiz and was confronted to the Dean after school to retrieve my phone (not because of the cheating accident). The Dean gives me and my Dad some small talk about the situation, but in the end, he said that he wouldn't write this up on my record. I've sincerely thanked him as well as apologized dearly to my English teacher. Everything felt okay.

2 weeks has past now. I'm in a small depression and unmotivated. This situation is eating me away on the inside. Would the Dean not follow his word and would this cheating incident show up on my record? I'm really in bad shape right now and I want to get facts in me and not making up random worst case scenarios in my head

The answer you will most likely have to answer will be similar to the Common App:

-Have you ever been found responsible for a disciplinary violation at any educational institution you have attended from 9th grade (or the international equivalent) forward, whether related to academic misconduct or behavioral misconduct, that resulted in your probation, suspension, removal, dismissal, or expulsion from the institution?

From what you stated you were not suspended so I think you would be able to honestly answer this question ‘no’. If you are concerned that your Dean is going to release information regarding the incident during the admission process I would doubt this. Your GC may not stress your integrity in a LOR, however if you didn’t receive any formal disciplinary action it will probably not come up again. Count yourself lucky and look at this as a wake up call.
