In August I got a 1310 on the SAT. After fifty hours of studying, I took the October SAT and got a 1460 which was 60-100 points higher than I expected. I was thrilled, but while looking at the score report I noticed that it says I omitted 0 answers for the math portion. However, I am positive that I left one grid-in blank. Now I am paranoid that this isn’t really my score and that it’ll be canceled. Am I crazy? Should I just enjoy the fact that I got the score I dreamed of and stop worrying?
You have your score, which means CB is done with evaluating whether your score should be something else. The type of error you mention, that you got someone else’s score, is extremely rare. Maybe you did answer the question you think you missed, or possibly it it was one of the experimental questions on the test, i.e.,questions given that are not actually included in the ones that determine scores but instead appear so CB can evaluate whether they should be used in future tests. You should likely leave it alone and not worry about it.
Agreed. Your score is accurate. Don’t worry about it. Keep in mind, as well, that CB will on occasion remove a question that turns out to be poorly worded or constructed. They are in charge. Congrats on your score, btw. It IS possible to see significant increases if you prep thoroughly so well done.
Also, it’s possible you left a blank on an experimental section that wasn’t scored.
Thank you, that makes me feel much better.
Hey thanks! Glad I was able to get it up there.
Congrats on a great improvement. Move on and don’t worry!
