maybe people are just on edge about their decisions...I hope so. This is one of my favorite times of year at cc, when I feel the most helpful, but people are attacking people like their enemies or something

it's like, I didn't get in because of you
my chances are slim because of you
me me me me
I I I I

I just can't stand it when an acceptee posts their stats and a rejectee/waitlister is like, my stats are so much higher than yours, how did you get in?

it's lyke im sad i didnt get in and i need to feel better so ima put u down on a college forum ahahahah

exactly sarorah... that's how i feel! lol

me too. I hope we're not like that next year cujoe

No, it's not that. Even that makes sense to feel crappy after you don't get in the college you want. It's just when you start taking it out on others.

Well obviously you're disappointed when you don't get into where you wanted to, but many people get such an ego boost from the what are my chances threads they post, that it really kicks them off their high pedastal

I had to go through the process last year and it was nerve wrecking. Even though I knew my chances were ok to not good I just wanted someone to say "You'll be fine, good luck!". And most of the attitudes come from non-college related subjects, minus Ivies, AA and what campus has the hottest girls threads.

we WILL be like that celebrian!!!! lol... well maybe not... but you can lord over all the applicants with your mighty post count?

I think we all just need to...laugh

haha I will lord over all the applicants, and you can be my co-lord

hahaha
ha

I've only been on CC for a few months, but I agree. I think people need to take themselves much less seriously. Most of the people here are highly intelligent, competent individuals, which is great, but too many inflated egos in one place inevitably lead to arguments.

This is also why I've started lurking around the parents' board lately.

Another issue I have is that when someone comments on rudeness or insensitivity, someone else is bound to say "god, no need to be PC". Somehow, basic respect for other people is demeaned as "political correctness". I don't understand how people make that connection.

I think a major issue is non-regulars, people who are only members for the time before letters come out until about may 1st or the end of the year and then leave. I'm not talking about lurkers, but people who never really establish any connection with cc.

Maybe admissions should be more selective for CC? LOL?

celebrian... i won't be ur colord... i'm offended

Why are you angry? My last post wasn't directed towards most non-regulars, but those few who boast or are rude. I wouldn't mean to offend you

celebrian, I think cujoe was sarcastic (or am I misreading this?)
