General Comments:

Please chance me for these schools and recommended institutions I should apply to. Preferably good schools for pre med .Also top schools that accept spring transfer even though there are few.

Emory University
Georgetown University
University of Miami

Slim chance at Emory and Georgetown. Safety for Miami.

How many W’s do you have?

@bottle cap. Oh okay thanks for the reply and to answer your question 4.

That is not too bad. Did you retake the courses you got the W’s in?

I missed the fact that you are a minority. You should go ahead and apply to Emory and G-town. Are you only interested in those two?

@ bottlecap Yes i retook them and I am taking some this semester . Can you give me my chances for G-town n Emory since you seen you just noticed my URM status? Do you have any top institutions you would recommend I apply too?? Its not gonna hurt to try .

What are you majoring in? In my opinion, it is not worth it to transfer to those top schools and pay 40-50 K tuition. I think it is best for you to just transfer to a state school and save money for graduate school.

Believe me, I know what it feels like. I got good stats and would also like to transfer to a top university(I have decided to just apply to my state school).

You have to really think about cost.

In order of preference.
1.Biochem
2.Chem
3.Bio

Thats true we do have to take cost into consideration. What schools are you looking to transfer to?

I am only going to apply to Rutgers New Brunswick since I will be able to compete for the PTK scholarship. I am coming from a NJ community college with an associate degree in chemistry. I will be a biological sciences major at RU.

I can’t afford any other colleges lol. I better get in

Apply everywhere you wanna go. I just transferred and got in everywhere I applied. I like my new school but after seeing my 100% admit rate I wish I had applied to a couple higher reaches. I got really good FA at my new absurdly expensive private school so it’s actually costing around the same as if I had just gone to my state school. If you dont apply you’ll never know!

@bottlecap1990, I’m hoping to get some good aid if im admitted to some top schools so I think I should be okay. And Rutgers isn’t bad .I think you should apply to some more state schools.

@NotAClue, 100% acceptance rate is incredible man, congrats!!! Do you mind letting us know your stats and schools you were accepted too? I would really appreciate it!!

The only good state school in NJ is Rutgers LOL. Plus my brother is already in the business school so we are hoping to live off campus together.
My parents make 55 K combined but one has about 50 k in the bank and the other has around 100k.
Should I even bother applying for FA? I doubt I will get any money if I put in these numbers.

Wiith that much in the bank I doubt it maybe you should make a thread in the Fin Aid forum and ask.

These majors do not have very good job and career prospects at the bachelor’s degree level, so keeping costs down and avoiding debt is very important. Find out each school’s reputation for financial aid for transfer students.

I agree with what ucbalumnus said. This is a big reason why I am transferring to my state school. I am planning on going to graduate school.

You should look into SLU they have spring transfer and they give great financial aid. Plus they have a medical school so you could look into that quite easily.

@littleindia70 u mean saint louis??

Yeah Saint Louis University! My friend really loves it there and they have quite a few scholarships for transfers even.

@Littleindia70 your right they do have alot of merit aid for transfer. Thanks!

Not a problem. If you could, chance me or add some input to my thread http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/1206911-chance-me-new-transferring.html
