Yeah, I'm with you on that...still it's nice to hear, even if unrealistic or said in jest L

Even if your admissions were a 'given', that would be no excuse for not putting your utmost effort into the application.

Never take anything for granted.

Does CCtoIvy have to take the SATs?

hhmmm....a private businees owner coming in to take the SATs....that would be interesting to see.

I do not think non-traditional applicants are required to take the SATs, and in general, I believe they are given much more personal attention relative to other transfer applicants.

I know ThomasH32 (is that the correct spelling?), was admitted into Yale and UPenn as a non-traditional student. It would be prudent to forward your concerns to him rather than leave it to speculation.

For Harvard- I would say its very unlikely. There haven't been any transfer students from a CC in the last few years, and maybe even longer if ever (but I only know about the last few yrs). At Harvard transfers generally are recruited athletes.

Hmm...I knew someone who transferred to Harvard. But that was a few years back.

You still have a shot, though.

Do you have a source for any of this?

Myself. I am a senior and worked in the admissions office before. I guess you'll have to take my word.

What you said seems highly questionable, in light of the fact recruiting atheletes that are already enrolled is not particularly easy.

Well maybe they are not recruited per say (I honestly do not know about the process of recruitment), but they are athletes nonetheless. My roommate is one of them. Also at Harvard, it is a common sentiment that "transfers are athletes". Perhaps this is a misconception, but I can name many more transfers who are athletes than who aren't.

EAS, here's a random question. By any chance, do you know the kind of times needed to be "recruited" for Harvard's track team. I'm looking for stats for the one and two mile events.

Thank you.

You should do a search for threads by and possibly send a PM to ThomasH32, a non-traditional student who is now at Penn.
