So I am planning on transfer to UCI for biz econ fall 2012 and I was wondering if I had to complete the computer science course before I transfer. I already have a full year of calculus and English and after this semester I will have done both macro and micro economics. I am asking because I am enrolled into the computer science class right now but I just got an internship and would like to drop it to focus on my grades and the internship. I also plan on minoring in accounting when I get to UCI so i decided to get my full year of accounting classes over with at my CC instead of the computer science requirement.

So if you dont want to read the top section my question is: Do I need to complete the computer science requirement before I transfer into UCI or can i just do it when I transfer?

No. You don’t have to take the computer science requirement. When you transfer, take Social Science 3A. Which is a super easy class compared to a programming class.

Do not take calculus 3 and linear algebra either. Take math 4, when you transfer.

I would take the internship.

For the accounting minor, I would enroll in the accounting classes in the summer before you transfer. It is open to everyone, you don’t have to be in the minor to enroll in them.

okay thanks for answering all my questions!

and for the accounting minor, should I take more than two semesters worth before i get there in the fall? I am currently in financial accounting and I will be taking managerial accounting in the spring so do I need any more accounting classes before I go?

Those two accounting classes are enough. I would focus on getting really good grades in the first few quarter when you get there, so you have a competitive UC GPA when applying for the minor.
