CC --> UC or CSULA

I need a little bit of assistance here deciding on whether to go to CSULA or to go for a CC such as PCC in an attempt to transfer over to a UC (San Diego or Santa Barbra).

I have already been accepted to CSULA but i don’t really care much for the school. It is close by to where I live but I want to get out of this place and dorm somewhere more prestigious where I can pursue either a major in one of the sciences (chem/physics/bio) or engineering (aerospace/electrical).

I am just scared that trying to get in through CC transfer will backfire and leave me in a weak situation.

What do?

I agree with your plan. Go to the CC and work your tail off. You will almost certainly have better options after two years.

Prepare to move to and attend the local geographic feeder CC to either CSU/UC schools you want to attend. Follow the TAG plan precisely. Consider dual enrollment in CCs to increase your chances of getting classes you need to matriculate in 2 years. It isn’t the same old “junior college” scenario of your parent’s day.
