Many people tell me its easier to transfer from a CC to a good college than from a State school. What is your experience with this, and is it true? :)

One of my friends helps with a transfer orientation at Columbia and he’s stated that the overwhelming majority of accepted transfer students came from four year institutions.

USC, Emory, Cornell, and some other schools seem to welcome community college transfers. The UCs in particular value a CC over a state school.

However, I wouldn’t opt to go to a state school over a community college just because it might slightly improve your chances at a school which takes about 2% of transfer applicants.
