hey guys
currently a sophomore at a CCC and am trying to transfer to Pomona or CSU long beach as a aerospace engineering major, i heard since these colleges dont have that many aerospace engineers, its not too hard to get into, but thats what i just heard.
i messed up pretty bad in college due to family issues, will probably try to transfer out with a 2.5-2.8 GPA
will have over 60 transferable units
will have all my GE classes completed with a C or better
and will have most of my major pre req classes completed with a C or better (wont have maybe 1 physics class done)

what are the chances that Pomona or CSULB would accept me?
i know living close to the college is a big deal now, but if i get accepted to those i will move close to the college for sure.
and i dont have to worry about the cost of the college if that could be a problem.

also what other good aerospace engineering colleges are out there that mite accept me?
and would these colleges even consider looking at my application?
thanx guys

Just so you know, this is a UC transfer forum. I don’t think many people in here even know anything about CSU or Cal Poly transfer stats.

What I can tell you is that you should do everything in your power to bump your GPA up to a 3.0. A friend of mine got into mechanical engineering at LB with about a 2.8 or so but that was a huge stretch. I don’t really know about any aero particulars but right now you should focus on that and if you can, take an easy summer class even if you don’t really need it.

For many CSUs it is impossible to predict your chances without knowing whether that particular school considers you to be an applicant from inside or an applicant from outside their service area. For example, if you are in the CSULB service area you can probably get accepted with a GPA of 2.8 but if you apply from outside the CSULB service area you would probably get rejected with a 3.8 GPA.

@killmyentourage: yea i know its not the right forum but at the transfer students forume, no one is really saying anything…and yea i am trying to bump up my gpa…and i know thats the only thing i can do right now, but i wana know if any of those schools would even consider look at me.

@Lemaitre1: yea i heard its all about location, but im forsure going to move to the school i decide to go to. and i live like 45 mins to an hour away from pomona.

No all schools are impacted and getting more competitive especially for engineering
