CC'ers Cornell Acceptance Rate > Average Cornell Applicant Acceptance Rate?

Hey to everyone!

I think most people will agree with many when i say that users from College Confidential boast a higher than average acceptance rate at top universities....such as Cornell. The stats on College Confidential, with SATs like 2200 as "the norm", are very, very impressive.

And so. What do you all think the average acceptance rate for CC'ers are at schools such as Cornell?

and if you could- what would you put as the "Average" for stats on CC. i.e. what is the average CC SAT? ACT? extracurriculars?

The latter part doesnt really do much in terms of 'informing' yet, hey, i figured it would be interesting. Plus i know that a good portion of you are there, to quote Jack Johnson- you are all "sitting, waiting, wishing" for ED replies.

so yea. any interesting feedback would be swell. :-)

it's correlation, not causation...being on CC means caring more about admissions

agreed.

also, i haven't been on here long but i vaguely remember looking back to when ppl were accepted for 2010 (i can't find it now) and like if i had to guestimate it would be maybe 60% 65% of the people on here got in. but obviously that means nothing.

but caring more about admissions is not necessarily a formual for BETTER chances at admission. for example i have friends who are OBSESSED with college admissions, yet they CANNOT pull it off. they cant do well on the SATs etc

but yea i think 60 ish percent is a good percentage.

what do you think abotu the average CCers stats?

careful with that ratio. people who didnt get in yet are still on CC will be reluctant to post, thust increasing your percentage.

thats true i didn't think about that

hmmm yeah thats true

AP stats rule

hahaha yea but how many do you think?

Personaly, I think that CC only lessens our chances. Just think about how much of the time spent here could have been spent on studying?!?

hahaha agreed with ktoto and wouldn't it be funny if we got accepted to cornell and during orientation of w/e they're like sooo raise your hands if you posted on the cornell forum of CC...hands go up and we all look around and realize who all the code names are.
there should be a group on facebook or something: I Got Into Cornell B/c of CC!!

hhaahah o man. IF i ever get in....i promise you sillyrabbit, i will make one. but alas, i apply NEXT year so i bet someone will have done tht.

and if i dont get in ktoto, ill make a group named "i didnt get into Cornell because i was too busy obsessing over getting into cornell on CC instead of studying"

At orientation we should all wear nametags with our CC names.

that would be hilarous. or why not wear a cap with a big paper taped to it with our usernames in bold letters. Imagine 1/2 of the orientation group is from CC, that would be ridiculous and fun. Someone can then start a CC Club rofl. and we can have CC Ultimate Frisbee!

i think. once im INTO college....and actually AT that campus, i will NEVER EVER GO ONTO CC AGAIN.

way too much stress when it will already be over for me. but yea i will never ever forget CC...how could i when i voluntarily compare myself to some of the nation and the WORLD's best and brightest?

No, you gotta get back on dude, help the people that apply next year!

hahaha i probaly wouldnt be able to avoid the invisible pull that we call "College Confidential"

so yea. ill be here forever.

of course, it's like bonding...w/o knowing each other lol. we're a cult now..people prolly laugh at us worrying about every minutely unobvious thing possible on the application- we need our chance to do that once we get in crosses fingers

its funny.

i stress stress stress over college, and yet it makes me happy.

i like to think about my chances, even if they are bad, its my new obsession. my mom says, "make sure you are stil having fun" but she doesnt understand that i LIKE doing this...

am i alone? (i wouldnt be surprised if i was)

You are SOOOOO not alone.
