CE at UW

I applied for computer engineering and got accepted as engineering undeclared.
Since CE at UW is extremely competitive, I wanted to know the requirements for getting CE.
Also wanted to know my chances of getting into it, i.e., % of students or number of students that get into CE.

All the available stats are on the department websites.

But, don’t focus on “the odds” – focus on “your odds.”

It’s like college admissions – “the odds” of getting into Harvard are tiny, but “your odds” if your parents are alums who donated a building and you are a National Merit scholar who can throw a football might be considerably higher.

You can do a lot of things to maximize “your odds” including performance on prerequisite classes, joining engineering related clubs or labs, and getting to know the faculty and advisor well so they give you tips.

I think anyone headed to the College of Engineering at UW should be prepared to be flexible. The engineering undeclareds are guaranteed a spot in an engineering major, but they are not guaranteed their first choice. If only CE will work for you, be sure to take a good look at any schools where you were accepted where you are guaranteed a spot in that major before committing to UW.
