CE v CALS for BME

Hi I live in NY and want to major in BME. I was wondering if there are any differences between applying through CALS and the college of engineering, since I would get the state tuition at CALS. I visited Cornell and did the engineering info session and tour and LOVED it, so I don't want to miss out on any of those aspects like intro to other engineering principles and design group extracurriculars (like baja). So is there a difference in application or education? I'm not into environmental EC's or classes, so would I have a worse chance getting into CALS (I saw that was a feature they looked for). Thanks for the help!

It doesn’t make a difference – students from both colleges take classes together. There’s no restriction for extracurriculars…so you’re probably better off with the cheaper tuition, unless you’re not totally decided on BEE vs. another engineering major. Also, there is no BME major – it’s BEE (which encompasses both BME and environmental), but you can take all BME classes …so essentially the same thing, but just so you don’t get confused when it comes time to apply.

Admit stats to CALS are much kinder than to COE, especially for males.

Awesome thanks!
