Cedar Crest College

I got accepted with scholarships but it's not very known. Anyone know about this college? What's it like?

It’s a small all girls school near either Allentown or Bethlehem. My sister went there many years ago. She loved the smaller, more supportive atmosphere for classes and went to Lehigh, Lafayette and Muhlenberg for the parties.

My DD just received snail mail from them yesterday. I have never heard of this school before.

If small, and all girls, are to your liking, you should go visit. A friend’s daughter went there and was very happy.

I worked there many, many years ago. It is a lovely small campus, very supportive community. Nice people. Only a few blocks from Muhlenberg College, which is coed, and in my time, had several shared programs with Cedar Crest.

It is a nice location, adjacent to large county and city parks at the edge of the city of Allentown. Their evening classes are open to men.

Oh okay. What’s their nursing program like? That’s my intended major.

Have you read all of the information on their nursing program on the Cedar Crest College website? I get the sense that you applied to this college on a whim without researching it first.

Their website has a plethora of valuable information regarding their nursing program. After you read that, come back with specific questions.

Another tip: compare the information on their website to the information you have about the other colleges you applied to. That should also help you determine the worth of the Cedar Crest program.

When I was there, Nursing was considered the toughest major on campus. YMMV.

Yes, I’ve researched Cedar Crest’s college nursing program. I know their passing rate and it’s pretty high compared to where I live. I live in New Jersey so I haven’t visited their campus, yet. But I want to know a student’s view or a parent who had a child attended the nursing program at Cedar Crest. For first year students, students must take pre-req courses to enter nursing in second year. I just want to know how hard it actually was to enter the program considering it’s the most popular major. Such as, percentage of people who got in or not.

Also, how many credits a student should take etc.

Beautiful campus in a nice section of Allentown, walking distance to a good shopping center, easy driving distance into Allentown or over to Muhlenberg. I’d say it’s worth a visit. It is well respected in the area, although not as well known as some of our other colleges.
