Cell Coverage @ Cornell

Does anyone have strong opinions either way on AT&T or T-Mobile on campus and general Ithaca area? I see older posts supporting AT&T and saying T-Mobile is not so great. Just wondering if this has changed? Verizon is not as good of a deal so not considering them. Thanks!

My kid has AT&T and is very satisfied with the service. No issues I’m told.

Thank you, learninginprog! If anyone is using Cricket (AT&T) or MetroPCS (T-Mobile) and can comment that would also be helpful!

My daughter has AT&T and she told me few days ago that AT&T has the best cell coverage. Worst is T-Mobile.

I’m an incoming freshman but I’ve been on campus for summer school and so far AT&T has worked great. The only problem I have had was at the Ithaca mall. I was not able to get a signal until I left the inside of the mall.

However, if you have an iPhone, you can log onto the mall’s WIFi and make calls via FaceTime. That seemed to work fine for me.

I had T-Mobile and when I went to visit and it was THE WORST. I got a signal only in the heart of the campus and only a few bars. Anywhere else i get 1 bar or no service at all. ATT is your best bet

My D told me that she read that some kids get together to do Cricket Family PLan and they each pay only $20 per month.

My D is a freshman and ATT works great, except for the Cornell Bookstore which is underground

We have AT&T, and it works great! I was even streaming music throughout the woodsy drive.

Never have had a problem with AT&T on campus.
