What is the best cell phone service provider for campus and Evanston?

I live in the Chicago area and I have U.S. Cellular. Never had any problems.

HOWEVER - us cellular has crappy phones, so if that sort of thing is important to you, check that out first. (Crappy as in awkward-looking, not faulty).

I have Verizon and I get service everywhere, especially in places where most other people don’t – e.g. the basement of Tech.

NOT AT&T! I don’t get service INDOORS!

^ This. I have AT&T too, and I can’t use my phone in Tech or in Norris.

DD had ATT her freshman year. Sometimes she could use it in her room-sometimes she had to go out into the stairwell to get service. She lived in the south side of campus. This year she is living in the north side of campus. She was complaining even more-and asked to switch to Verizon at Christmas. Now she is using Verizon-and says it is SO MUCH BETTER!

TMobile is OK but not great.

Anyone know about Sprint?

Verizon is definitely the best. I get service everywhere except the radio building engineering room which probably is supposed to not get good reception. Otherwise, from the bottom of tech to Norris to the library, I get service.

Tmobile has signal issues. I can’t get a signal in a lot of schools/large buildings so it’s basically useless to me half the time
