Haha, they just tell you to put it away if they see it. mine went off in class a couple times b4 so I just shut it off and they dont care. one time my friend's went off with a song ringer and the teacher started dancing! My teacher's phones have went off b4 and they answer them. If you really need to use one ppl always talk on them in the bathrooms and locker rooms.

Went off? = "Shut it off whoever it is."
See it out? = "put it away or it's mine."
Talking on the cell? = "O_O, R u KIDDING ME?" (n u'll eventually get off the phone n put it away).

It depends upon the teacher at my school. The policy is that we can't have them during the school day, and they will be confiscated if we are using them. Not many teachers enforce this, though (at least in my classes - the honors/AP teachers tend to be much more lenient with the rules).

I have one teacher whose policy is just to answer the student's cell phone if it rings - which can actually be quite amusing. Once, she answered two different students cell phones in two different periods and got the same person - the boys' mother - and proceeded to have a 10 min chat in each class about the students' grades and stuff.

Last year, I remember when some of my classmates were calling our teacher in the middle of class. He just laughed and answered the phone, he didn't take away their phones or anything.

Most teachers just ignore it or tell us to shut them off, but it doesn't happen that much as students generally know to turn their phones to vibrate before class starts.

most teachers dont go anal but there are those who go bonkers and start yelling

After so many cell phone issues my school allowed it. We can using before school, at lunch, or afterschool. If it goes off in class or if we use it anytime when we can't then some teachers take it away. Most now just kind of ignore it or tell us to turn it off. Rarely do they confiscate it now. I mean come on, you can't live without a cell phone now in the society we live in. Some teachers just gotta get real.

My school doesn't allow cell phone usage, although I oftentimes see people sitting in class sending text messages to their friends...I know quite a few students whose cell phones have beeped, gone off, etc. during class, and most teachers just tell them to turn it off...You're allowed to have a cell phone at school, but it is supposed to be kept off and in your locker...They're only allowed, because they know people often stay after for clubs and need to call their parents to pick them up...In my school, they pretened to make a big fuss about it, but most teachers don't care that much...They just tell people to turn them off if they ring...In Spanish class, actually, my Spanish teacher's phone, which she usually has in her closet in her purse, has rung about four times so far this year, and she answered it...I know a boy, who's in my AP gov. class, who did something funny...His phone rang, and our teacher told him to turn it off, but he said it was important and he had to take it...He got up and went out into the hall to take the call...It was hilarious...But my school claims to have a strict policy against it, but the teachers don't take it very seriously...
