cell phone service?

I applied RD, and then my ancient ghetto cell phone decided to stop working. I'm trying to figure out what's the best service to get for each of the schools I applied to. How are T-mobile and verizon? any other suggestions?

We have Verizon now, not local but our area code. We used to have T-mobile. Both work fine.

By "we", I mean our whole family that includes our Swarthmore sophomore son. Verizon seems to have better reception.

Cingular activated a new antenna array on an apartment building right in downtown Swarthmore (a couple doors down from the PNC Bank) in early November. This has resulted in excellent reception on campus, even at the most distant points from the new tower. No dropped calls talking to my daughter since, even inside stone buildings, which was definitely not the case previously.

Cingular works well for us.

^ same here, cingular

good reception in swat and philly

I wouldn't go with Verizon. I have it and calling anyone on my cell phone here involves tons of walking around and head-tilting to not lose the call. My friends who have Cingular and T-Mobile have way better reception than I do and can even get reception in the basement of McCabe. That being said, if you do go with Verizon, be sure to update your roaming capabilities (*228, SEND, press 2) a lot so you won't lose your calls as much. Hope this helps!
