does anyone know how much space extreme facebooking would take up ;)

Any way to bypass the limit?

Live off campus.

wait we now get a 10gb cap?! SWEET no more shall I be paying $70/month (well maybe now $65 :P)

Wait...you're excited about the bandwidth limit? That's a first...

Anyway additional bandwidth is pretty cheap, something like $1.50/GB...

When I lived on campus we had a 2GB limit...I went over once

$1.50/gb is a lot for people who use 250gb/month for torrents alone, such as me :/

Sheesh, what do you torrent? Probably a lot of it can be found on DC++. I torrented occasionally when I lived on campus and maybe hit 15GB/month once in a while (back when we had the 2GB limit as well)...still was pretty cheap.

geesh towerpumpkin...how do you think the stuff gets on dc++? some of us (SEEDERS) actually have to torrent it D:

I've only actually downloaded 212 gb for the past 12 months, but uploaded 2.67 Tb. So, yeah.

And DC++ is only good for DLing those rare and obscure songs. Torrents are better for everything else.

pr0no ftfw ^_^

but yeah and even for torrents...some sites you have to have a decent ratio...

Yeah but there's no duplicate downloading. Instead of you downloading every single episode for every single TV show you watch, maybe you would rotate with the other users on DC++. That way, instead of torrenting 50GB/month, you may only torrent 5GB/month, very managable...

Though I have heard that the quality of DC++ has gone down recently...

duplicate downloading is the fastest way for people to get their shows the night they air...NBC and other networks have cracked down on cornell students for downloading...i usually stream those online b/c people rarely risk getting JAd b/c of downloading shows...

i'm talking about pr0n meh ladeh :P

Haha...I see... oh that's another thing... (I think) being on campus provides you another layer of "security," that is any DMCA notice will be served first to Cornell rather than you directly. Instead of getting sued for lots of money, you'll just get some sort of internal punishment (like JAed and getting your internet cut off) or something like that...

I got a cease and desist from NBC, but that's only because I was using TPB and without protection. Then I got ipfilter for uTorrent and I've been safe ever since.
