Soo is the overall general feeling that we should bring our cell phones when we inprocess or should we have parents send them later?

I'm bringing mine...

I'm bringing mine, too.

Same here.

ok thats what I'm doing..
I've just heard stories of them getting lost .....

I think Surfnkid has commented on the issue:

Ive said this before, and Ill say it again: bring your cell phone. Some will recommend against this on the basis that you don't need it, that you can have your parents bring it to you shortly after you graduate from BCT, or that it will get taken away and possibly lost by the cadre. I am glad I brought mine to basic because I used it on several occasions. Once, they were supposed to provide us all a call home, but didn't have enough land lines so they let us get out our cell phones. I also used it on doolie day out, and immediately after graduating. Trust me, when you are finally aloud to use a phone, you won't want to wait several days for it to get shipped to you. Finally, there is very little chance of it actually being lost. The cadre will take it from you and keep it in a secure location. You will not get in trouble for bringing it.

I'm bringing mine

I'm keeping mine with my sponsor family.

I don't have one! I'll be getting one after basic though.

Just everyone bring your cell phone! I know some were "lost" last year, but that was like 10 people out of the 1300 basics. It's better to have a cell phone available to call home halfway through basic; rather than hope for an upperclassmen to give you theirs for five minutes, instead of fifteen.
