Ok so my contract with Verizon is going to run out in about a week and I was wondering is Verizon or Cingular better in SB? Or are they about the same because I don't know if I should switch or not.

Enjoy. =)

I have T-mobile for around 3 years and it is the best provider, the plans are cheaper than Cingular and Verizon, best customer service and excellent coverage. I went to UCSB 2 days ago for orientation and I get full bar every where. I believe all the providers work well in UCSB, so coverage isn't really a problem, but if u really want to choose between Verizon and Cingular, I say Verizon, cuz they have better network in whole US overall and better customer service. (Cingular has the worst customer service)

Pick Cingular! It works inside the rooms in Manzanita. I had Verizon but had to change to Cingular because of bad conection while inside my room.

I still love my T-mobile, it works inside Mazanita Village room too

Cingular worked poorly in my room in Manzanita last year.

I guess get a good phone then heheh

It really depends. It works fine in other people's room but I got no reception in my corner room in Montecito.

My experience is that Verizon has better coverage at UCSB than Cingular does. And during halloween, only Verizon really has a chance of working at all.

So the cheapest one is T-mobile?

hell ya, t-mobile beats competetion by 10 bucks for the same mins. Also they have decent coverage in UCSB everywhere, also best customer service, i've been with them for 4 years already

I really think it depends on where you are on campus because my Sprint phone had service in a lot of areas but sometimes it would lose service all of a sudden...
