Hello everybody
Lately I have been concerned about having too many credits when I transfer to a 4 year college after I finish at my current community college. Next year I will be a 3rd year sophomore with only 10 credits left to graduate, but I won't be able to transfer until next year. In the meantime I was interested in getting a personal training certificate from my current school . I am concerned that these extra credits will push me over the limit of credits most 4 year schools want prospective transfers to have. I know there is not a way for anyone to know until I actually go and ask, but does anybody have any experience with college certificates and number of credit hours? Do they show on transcripts? Any help us appreciated

You need to contact each of the places that are on your transfer list, and ask if they have restrictions on the number of credits a student can have earned at the community college level. Each place sets its own policy about this.

Most often it doesn’t matter how many credits an applicant has earned at the community college, but no more than 60 or so will be able to be transferred in for credit.
