Posting on my dad's account.

I've already earned a congressional nomination and an appointment to KP. The appointment is conditional on my CFA, which is due in a few weeks. I went through a trial run and would like to know if my scores are OK. Should I go ahead and make this official or try to improve a little? Am I in any danger of not getting the appointment? Here are my scores.

B-Ball throw - 61 ft.
Pull-ups - 5
Shuttle run - 8.9 sec.
Sit-ups - 47
Push-ups - 40
Mile - 7:35

Thanks for any input.

the push ups and sit ups are quite low. i’d shoot for at a minimum of 60 each for those. the run time could use a little improvement as well. cause at that pace you’ll barely pass the run times here. pull ups aren’t bad, but there’s always room for improvement.
basically, keep hitting the gym. if you work on pull ups every day, you can easily double that number within a week or two.

dadofjszm, you will obviously be able to get there with practice.
Although the PFT (after you get to the Academy) will differ somewhat from the CFA, you can get the desired CFA results with methods of practice used for the PFT followed by “Active Rest,” which gives your muscles a chance to recover and grow.
There is also a repetitions “ladder” you can follow that helps you build up by alternating sit-ups and pull-ups.

The point is that you can achieve what you should rather quickly through repetition, but without killing yourself.
I wish you success!
