Cfa

I know there must be several threads about this already.... but I don't feel like looking through all of em'...

Anyways, what are the requirements for the CFA?
Also, with regards to preparation for Summer Seminar, how much running should I be doing?

female stats:
basketball ave 41’ max 68’
pullups ave 3 max 7
flexed arm hang 19.8
shuttle run ave 10 sec max 8.6 sec
sit-ups ave 68 max 95
push-ups ave 33 max 50
1 mile run ave 8:06 max 6:00

Male stats anyone?

i had 30 pushups, 70 crunches, a 10 second arm hang, and an 8:30 minute mile, and i still got in. don’t worry. :)

hmmmm…

not sure what that means.
Most who want this bad enough are willing to do the work to find the information they are looking for- at least to give it a try… at least SOME effort…

Might want to try out that search feature…

Thank you so much! I really appreciate it.

For the male stats…

I did pretty good… I think it was like this:

112 pushups
110 crunches
5:16 mile run
17 pullups
70 or so feet basketball throw
And I have no idea what my shuttle run was.

Don’t have actual ones, but these I’m pretty sure are quite competitive.

^^ uh, you are over max for the pushups, situps, and the mile. They max at 75 push-ups, 95 sit ups, 5:20 mile, 18 pull-ups, and 7.8 shuttle. Any scores over these amounts are not taken. The averages are about:

60 push-ups
80 sit-ups
11 pull-ups
6:30 mile
8.8 shuttle
65 basketball throw

I did pretty bad and still got in, i had like 44 push-ups, a 7:10 mile, and a 65 foot basketball throw, but I did better on the rest, with a 8.4 shuttle, 12 pull ups, and 90 sit ups. I wish i would have been in shape when I tested, as now I can almost max everything except push-ups and pull-ups. Remember, the CFA is only one part of the admissions process, but it is important, so take it seriously.

Do NOT do more than the max score for any event. You will NOT get more points and you will only tire you out for the next evolution. When you hit the max score, STOP. Seriously. That’s what the CFA instructions say and, therefore, what you should do.

You will have plenty opportunity to demonstrate your advanced fitness during plebe summer and throughout your military career. The CFA is the time to do the max, and then (following instructions), stop. You will NOT get credit for doing more than the max. Trust me on this.

Also, you do NOT need to max out to pass. USNA doesn’t expect everyone to max out on every event – or any – event. Be in shape; do your best.

Superdoc2013 looking like a PT stud for plebe summer.

I went over on a couple of 'em too. I didn’t think it would hurt me in any way.

113 pushups
95 situps
23 pullups
6:03 mile
8.6 shuttle
67’ bball throw

Unfortunately I got a little lazy the last few weeks of school and my scores have dropped a bit. Especially pushups. I hope I can get back in shape before I-day.

Haha… believe me, I am perfectly aware that anything over the max doesn’t count… It’s the same for the Navy PFA and Marine Corps PRT, and I’ve done plenty of both. BUT, it doesn’t hurt. And I’m the kind of person that, if placed in a situation where I have to do my best, simply will. And why stop at the max when I can push to my limits and reap the extra benefits of a more straining exercise?

It’s not to appear cocky or anything, just taking full advantage of a situation.
